Henna

A couple years ago I bought some Henna and tried it out, gave it to my husband who gave it back to me for Christmas. I loved it! of course. Drawing designs on you body, what could be better...well...drawing on someone else! Recently I thought of purchasing some more and I found out that the gal also does workshops. So I'm hoping to either travel to Moncton, NB for one, or wait and see if she makes it to Charlottetown and puts one on here. I even volunteered my shop as a place to hold a workshop. But I'd be glad to get in on a workshop anywhere. Then I could have Henna at my shop, would be fun to do some Henna for folks here and there.

Handmade Accessories for Women

These things about me influence the way I create:
I have no formal training in any of the mediums I explore.
I hate to shop, that's why I create.
I am impatient.
I prefer the easy way.
I want to do everything well from the first moment I try, and get angry when I can't.
I believe I can do everything.
I want to be the best at what I do.

I love asymetry in everything but houses.
I love making something and having someone see it and say 'how did you think of that!?'

Creating Accessories for Women...by hand:
Much of my work is done by hand, or is handmade, yet I hear lots of discussions about the definition of 'hand made'. In my work it means buying as little finished components for a piece as absolutely possible. For example, my sea glass wire jewelry...I buy wire, I don't buy components, I don't buy charms, or loops or rings, or clasps. I buy wire then I bend, twist, hammer, tumble, hammer again, cut...until I get the jewelry components I want. The one component I do buy is a bit of bulk chain, for my lower priced pendants.
For my bags I create the bag as well as the design. The bags are sewn by me. I do not buy bags and then paint them.
